Some of the most impressive and interesting destinations in Eastern Europe definitely are in Ukraine and the Russian republics. Odessa is the 5th largest city in Ukraine and situated in the Southern West part of the country. The city is big industrial, culture and travel center of the country and offers a lot of interesting and beautiful places. The city was founded in 18th century by Catherina the Great and really is charming and aristocratic city, which combines the beautiful architecture, nice history and a lot of culture destinations. Really all the architecture is typical for the Eastern Europe, combining the aristocratic of the Russian culture and the industrialism of the modern Europe. Definitely Odessa is important city for the economy of Ukraine, because it has one of the largest cargo ports in Black Sea. Together with this, the city is prefered by travelers from all over the world. The old architecture resembles more Mediterranean than Russian, as is a French and Italian influence. The family of Leo Tolstoy holds palace in the city that exists today.
Some of the most interesting sightseeings in Odessa are the Bridge “Teshchin” and the seafront alley. Also interesting for the tourists are the Shahskiya Palace, the Opera House, the Archeological Museum and the Museum of Maritime History. Definitely traveling to Odessa is great and very beautiful and you may have really cheap holiday in one beautiful and rich of historical monuments city.
