Sun citySun City lies behind the middle of nowhere, savanna, 160 km from Johannesburg. Complex is the work of Sol Kertsner businessman, the son of poor immigrants of Russian origin that paves the large South African city water and electricity. Initial idea was to create Kertsner entertainment center not far (as presented stranger to distance) of Johannesburg and Pretoria, which inter alia provides striptease games and betting – forbidden fruit still in the old Calvinist South Africa before the end of apartheid. That is why he stopped at a sheltered and most importantly – independent of the then South African country Botswana where such entertainment as act as a magnet and even brought his name Sin city (City of Sin City instead of the sun). The first of the 4 hotels at the resort (a total of over a thousand rooms and luxury bungalows) opened in December 1979 in this luxury complex, especially in the Palace at Lost City, whose design is sunk in the style of an ancient settlement was deliberately sought . The palace has 338 rooms including 4 VIP suites (Royal, Royal, African and Desert) with separate sauna and jacuzzi, which are decorated with hand-decorated ceilings, mosaics and frescoes on the walls, depicting South African culture and history.
The idea of the owner was to sorting out (at least in the beginning) elite customers, eager to leave one another and a grand green cloth. In the largest of them – the Super Bowl with 6000 seats, are exported worldwide concerts legends like Queen, Frank Sinatra and Bryan Adams. Not to mention beauty contests and fashion-tours which often organize a stranger among lush scenery.
