CubaVisiting the Caribbean is usually pretty high on every holidaymaker’s wish list – just the mere mention of the word conjures up thoughts of salsa beats, glistening beaches and gently swaying palm trees. But you needn’t feel excluded if you’re on a budget, as there are always plenty of cheap Cuba holidays to be had.
You might be surprised to know USA holidays can fall into the ‘cheap’ bracket, but they can and frequently do – it’s all about hunting down the right deal and being open to different scenarios. Key to driving down the price is flexibility – and the less fixed you are on dates, departure airports and type of accommodation, the better the deal.
If you’re planning a cheap Cuba holiday, don’t be surprised if you can’t find much in the way of self-catering or half-board. The majority of holidays are only available on an all-inclusive basis, which is standard in the Caribbean – especially if you’re using a package holiday operator like Thomas Cook. However while this might push the initial cost up, it means that you will actually be saving money once you’re out there – as all of your meals and drinks are already paid for.
With all-inclusive you’ll usually get some nice extras on top too, like access to spa facilities or discounts on local activities.
Normally the best way to secure a cheap holiday is to book well in advance. Plan ahead and try to book as soon as the new brochure is available – that way you’ll be able to take advantage of early bird deals plus you’ll have more time to pay the holiday off.
