Cancun is a coastal town in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo Yucatan Peninsula. Cancun has a population of 526,701 inhabitants (2005) and is situated at an altitude of 00-10 meters. Founded on April 20, 1970 represents the island, open on one side forming a lagoon. It is the largest and most beautiful international tourist resort in the country.
