Their total area is 377.8 thousand square kilometers. Length of coastline – 33,287 km. Off the coast of some islands (Ryukyu Archipelago) are coral reefs. The relief of the Japanese Islands is mainly mountainous with the main ridges. Some mountains are of volcanic origin, with many active and extinguished volcanoes. One of the main attractions of Tokyo, Asakusa temple Canon is dedicated to the goddess of mercy Canon is the oldest temple in Tokyo, built in 645, and is traditionally the symbol of Tokyo.
